In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Vecaro is voluntarily recalling its Glide65, Drift8, and Trek10 self-balancing scooter, also known as a hoverboard.

Product Description: Vecaro Hoverboards purchased at any time during November 2015 through November 2016 that have model number Glide 65, Drift 8 or Trek 10 the hoverboard, sold by Vecaro LifeStyle. The products have two wheels, one at either end of a platform and are powered by lithium ion battery packs. Vecaro hoverboards have the name “Vecaro” printed on the front outer casing. They came in a variety of colors.

Potential Hazard: The lithium-ion battery packs in the Vecaro Hoverboards may overheat, posing a fire hazard.

Remedy: Customers, who purchased a Vecaro Hoverboard at any time during November 2015 through November 2016, should immediately discontinue use and choose one of the following remedies:

  1. Repair: Return the unit to Vecaro. Vecaro will install a new battery pack to replace the defective battery pack and return the unit.
  2. Credit: Return the unit to Vecaro. Upon receipt of the unit, Vecaro will issue you a credit of $200 to be used towards the online purchase of a new UL 2272 Certified Vecaro Glide65. The credit will be valid until December 31, 2017.

Vecaro will cover all shipping costs for either option by sending a pre-paid shipping label. If your hoverboard is covered by this Corrective Action Plan, we will provide you with instructions on how to send your hoverboard back.
